Read this in a day, just a good contemporary book for me to read over the weekend.
I really enjoy how easily I can pick up Stephanie Perkins' books and just flow with the characters.
You don't necessarily have to have read Anna & The French Kiss before picking this up but it does tie in nicely.
Ruby Red was not what I was expecting, but that isn't a bad thing. The main character also seems to be younger than her age (which I was initially surprised at), or maybe she is just immature, which hopefully leaves room for some exciting character development. I also felt that we were introduced to a lot of characters and did a lot of world building, so the story wasn't that exciting (well, it was, but I didn't feel that it was the main focus yet) and the background information was a bit to get my head around but I think the next book will use all the development space that has been allowed and I look forward to a wonderful series.
